Taking planned breaks is an essential part of self care in any profession, and particularly as a therapist. Managing your appointments while on a planned break is simple using the integrated Helpspace calendar.

Initial Exploratory Sessions and new clients

To ensure that you do not receive any new bookings during your planned break, simply ensure that there are no open Initial Exploratory Session Slots available in your calendar during that time. These are the sessions that any new clients who are looking to start therapy with you can book directly from your profile.

If the number of open Initial Session Slots in your calendar equals zero, your profile will be hidden from the public on www.helpspace.org.uk. After your planned absence/holiday, simply add at least one open Initial Session Slot to show your profile again.

This is an easy way to both manage planned absences, and maintain boundaries.

Ongoing sessions with existing clients

Ensure that any ongoing sessions with existing clients are not booked during your planned break. If a session exists in your calendar, the client will automatically receive a reminder for the session, a session link, and payment for the session will be taken 48 hours before the session start time. Therefore, it is essential that no calendar events for sessions are added for the period of your planned break.
