  • A good computer, with decent webcam and audio
  • An appropriate confidential space from which to conduct sessions

Where to find the video call link for your session

Once the client has booked an Initial Exploratory Session, and each time their therapist books a Follow-up session for them, both client and the therapist receive a confirmation email with the session details, and a link to a secure online video call. This video meeting link is available in the confirmation email, the reminder emails, and on the therapist's calendar event for the session.

Video call links are automatically generated for each session

Neither client not therapist need to download or install any programs to use this link. There is no need to create an account, or log in to a service. There is no need to spend your non-contact time as a therapist generating and emailing meeting links. On Helpspace this is 100% automated.

Scheduling a session in your calendar creates a video call link

Meeting links are generated when you schedule a follow-up session for a client in your Helpspace calendar (or when the client books one of the Initial Exploratory Session slots you have made available).

How to open a video meeting

At the time of the session, both client and therapist click the video call link (either in their Helpspace account/calendar, or in the confirmation or reminder emails), and the video meeting will open automatically. You and your client will need to enter your name and click 'Join' in order to enter the call. The first time you open the video-meeting, you will need to give it permission to use your microphone and webcam. Once the session has ended, you can end the video call by clicking the red phone icon to end the call.
