As a therapist on Helpspace, your public profile is a vital tool for connecting with potential clients. Your profile picture is the first impression clients will have of you, making it a crucial element in creating a warm and inviting profile.
When you register your profile with Helpspace, the Helpspace team will review your profile, and will give you feedback if the photo quality needs to be improved. Be aware that the Helpspace review team are relatively strict about picture quality, and adherence to the Helpspace profile picture guidelines.
Below you can find some helpful tips and information on how to take a good quality profile picture.
We recommend using an image taken and edited by a professional photographer. If you do decide to take the picture yourself, however, please follow this checklist.
Profile Picture Checklist
- Choose a neutral background, without lights or windows.
- Make sure your head is centred.
- Leave equal space left of the head, and right of the head.
- Leave a smaller space above the head. Do not crop the top of the head.
- Lowest 20% is the 'shoulder-zone' (see example image above)
- Make eye-contact with the camera.
Again, please note that the Helpspace team are relatively strict about these profile image guidelines. To avoid having to re-upload (and delay your application), please try to meet the criteria above.
