There are instances when a therapist's profile may need to be removed from Helpspace to maintain the platform's integrity, and ensure ethical practices. These are some of the main circumstances under which a therapist's profile may be removed. This list is not exhaustive.
Conducting off-site sessions and payments
All client sessions that come about as a result of Helpspace's marketing efforts and all related payment transactions must be conducted exclusively through the integrated Helpspace booking and payment system. This ensures minimal administrative tasks for therapists, and increased trust and security for clients.
Taking clients off-site for sessions and payments is a breach of our terms and conditions, and will lead to the therapist's profile being removed from the site.
Lack of Follow-Up Sessions from Initial Exploratory Sessions
Helpspace's marketing efforts are focussed primarily on enabling therapists to acquire new clients by enabling Initial Exploratory Sessions. The marketing costs involved in getting a prospective client to attend an Initial Exploratory Session are significant. If no follow-up sessions result from these initial sessions, it may indicate that therapists are taking clients off-site for sessions and payment. In such cases, the therapist's profile may be removed from the site.
Breach of Helpspace terms and conditions
Adherence to Helpspace's terms and conditions is essential to maintain a trusting, professional and supportive platform. Any violation of these terms may lead to profile removal to ensure the well-being and integrity of our community.
Providing inaccurate or misleading information
At registration, therapists are required to provide accurate and honest information about their qualifications and practice. If it comes to our attention that information provided is inaccurate or misleading, profile removal may be necessary to maintain the high standards and integrity that we strive to uphold.
Acting in an illegal or unethical manner
Helpspace is committed to upholding the highest ethical standards. If there are credible reasons to believe that a therapist is acting in an illegal or unethical way through the platform, profile removal will be considered to safeguard our community.
Addressing unethical practice complaints
In the event of a client approaching Helpspace about unethical practices, we take the matter seriously and investigate it thoroughly. If the complaint pertains to a therapist's conduct, we will direct the client to the therapist's professional body, where appropriate actions can be taken.
